Vector Images
A series of vector created drawings from which much of my jewellery work is derived.
Digitally Coloured Photo Montage
Combined photographic and hand drawn elements, digitally coloured to produce saturated, surreal lanscapes.
Digitally Coloured Hand Drawings
All of the original design element to these images were drawn by hand using fineliner pens - originals are black and white linear studies in pattern and form. They are then scanned and coloured digitally. The pattern work in particular has been developed and incoporated into much of my jewellery: the designs were shelved for years, but I always knew I would go back to them one day.
Digital Mandalas
A series of repeated forms - most were produced one open evening at a school I was teaching at, in between talking to prospective parents. All the original images are birds skulls, except the dragonflies, which are, erm, dragonflies!
Digitally Manipulated Photographic Montage
I owned my first PC (one that was capable of handling an image manipulation program) back in 2001, on return from travels in South Korea and Canada. I had a back catalogue of hundreds of photographs, and the computer allowed me to be really creative with them - this lead to working freelance for a number of publications, and resulted in my first prominent exhibition in Birmingham.
Chess - Digitally Manipulated Photo Montage 2
A series of images incoporating flesh and shell, I went through a period of being fascinated by the subliminal juxtopostion of the hard shell exterior over the soft feminine form to suggest vulnerablity and self protection.
Photographs
Cropped and adjusted slightly to enhance contrast in some, otherwise these images were exactly as I saw them at the time of shooting.
Graphic Novels
Exactly what it says on the tin! I'm fortunate to collaborate with other artists and writers from time to time.
Publications
Some of my published images and tutorials.
