Anna McDade born 1973, Wakefield, West Yourkshire, UK. She graduted from the University of Lincolnshire and Humberside with a degree in Fine Art, then later from the University of Central England with a PGCE in Art and Design.
Early Influences include René Magritte and Leonora Carrington of the surrealist movement, and Patrick Woodroffe. After living in South Korea she became facinated with traditional and contemporary eastern styles, Including the works of Ando Hiroshige, Hokusai Katsushika, Masamune Shirow and more recently, Chiho Aoshima.
Works are created using a variety of media, including painting and drawing, though predominantly through digital technologies: current 2D art works are created entirely in Illustrator, and form dreamlike terrains scattered with, fish, flowers, animals, birds and odd, humanoid creatures exploring their curious worlds. 3D works are produced in copper, sterling silver and gold.
Anna is a member of the artgroup 'Artlab', based at UCLan, Preston.
